If you have a recent or recurring injury, we will do an assessment to find out how we can best help you, before implementing a tailored treatment plan.
Assessment:
Option 1: Face to Face: Your first consultation will normally be an initial assessment, which usually takes about 50 minutes. In this session, you will be asked lots of questions about your injury, lifestyle and goals.
(Please note, it helps to be able to see the area we are working with, so an element of undressing may be required. We encourage you to wear sensible clothing, such as vest top and comfortable shorts.)
Option 2: Virtual: Your initial consultation virtually will have the same aims as the face-to-face option. Starting with questions about injury, lifestyle and goals, then moving on to the physical part of the assessment.
The key clinical findings from the assessment will then be analysed by your therapist, then your individualised treatment plan will be created. We like you to be as involved in this process as possible, so we can ensure that the treatment option is right for you and can work in harmony with your lifestyle.
Setting realistic goals is a great way to see meaningful progress, so we will work with you to create some short, medium and long-term goals.
Treatment:
Subsequent sessions will be treatment sessions. From the treatment plan created after your assessment, a variety of treatment modalities may be used to achieve the desired outcomes.
We will try to answer any questions you might have, and educate you around your injury and relevant anatomy. We believe that the more you understand what is happening, the better you will be able to make decisions about what is best for you.
An ongoing assessment will take place, though objective markers and outcome measures, to ensure that treatment is heading in the right direction and we are on track to meet your goals.
You will notice our appointments are in 50 or 25 minute slots. This is to ensure we have time to update our documentation within the 30/60 minute session time, and allows us to keep good time-keeping throughout the day.
Please ensure you arrive at least 5 minutes before your appointment so that we can start your session on time. We have a waiting area and clean customer toilets.
